Project Description – Data Center Build-Out

CloudSwitch successfully delivered a comprehensive Data Center Build-Out for University Korner Enterprise. Our expert team ensured a secure, scalable, and high-performance data environment tailored to the client's enterprise needs. The solution supports mission-critical operations and future growth.

1. Design and Planning

  • Conducted a comprehensive site survey and requirements analysis.
  • Developed a customized data center layout including server racks, cooling systems, electrical pathways, and security zones.
  • Coordinated with stakeholders to finalize power, network, and redundancy specifications based on operational needs.

2. Infrastructure Installation

2.1 Structured Cabling

  • Installed high-performance CAT6A and fiber optic cabling to support high-speed connectivity and inter-rack communications.
  • Routed and labeled all copper and fiber terminations to patch panels and network distribution points.
  • Performed testing and certification for all data cables per TIA/EIA standards.

2.2 Power and Cooling

  • Deployed dual-redundant power feeds and installed PDUs (Power Distribution Units) in each rack.
  • Integrated UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems for backup and surge protection.
  • Installed precision cooling units (CRAC/ROW-based systems) to maintain temperature and humidity thresholds for equipment health.

2.3 Rack and Equipment Installation

  • Installed server racks with proper spacing for airflow and accessibility.
  • Mounted core IT equipment including servers, storage devices, firewalls, switches, and patch panels.
  • Configured cable management trays and grounding systems for safety and organization.

3. Network Setup and Configuration

  • Deployed and configured high-availability firewalls, core switches, and access layer switches.
  • Established VLANs, routing protocols, and network segmentation for security and performance.
  • Implemented secure remote access and monitoring tools for network management.

4. Physical and Logical Security

  • Installed access control systems including badge readers and surveillance cameras for physical security.
  • Configured firewall rules, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and security logging for network protection.

5. Testing, Documentation, and Handover

  • Performed system integration testing (SIT), failover testing, and connectivity validation.
  • Delivered full documentation including rack elevations, IP mapping, cabling diagrams, and equipment inventory.
  • Provided training and knowledge transfer sessions for the client’s IT staff.

Deliverables

  • Fully operational, scalable, and secure data center
  • Redundant power and cooling infrastructure
  • High-speed and segmented network environment
  • Documentation and training for ongoing operations and maintenance
